Eric Jackson has been a dominant figure at the GoPro Mountain Games since the very earliest days. Now he leaves the gold medals to his son Dane, daughter Emily, and Emily’s husband and world-champion kayaker Nick Troutman.
Paddling Jackson kayaks, the family of paddlers have carved out a lifestyle that will reshape the perspective of anyone who struggles with the work/life/family balance. Eric has re-invented himself as a kayaker fisherman, but he also stands as a new-era symbol of the newfound industrial power wielded by the outdoor scene, albeit a laid-back one. Nick and Emily’s 3-year-old boy and 8-month-old daughter travel with them from river to river as they live an everyday, typical family life that proves kayaking doesn’t need to end when children (or in Eric’s case, grandchildren) come along.
Dane … well, Dane just shreds. The 3-time world champion reaps in the medals at the GoPro Mountain Games every year in both the Coors Light Steep Creek Championships and the Coors Light Freestyle.
