The bearded, mud-covered mascot of the GoPro Mountain Games always (as the muddiest dude out there) wins the Nature Valley Mud Run. However, the man (he is an actual man … his name is Jess Manning and he’s from Farmington, Utah) can also hold his own in other athletic endeavors. Last year he was one of very few people to notch four laps up and down one of the steepest runs on Vail Mountain in the notoriously brutal Pepi’s Face-Off and also landed in the top 10 of his age group in the Wild Tonic Apres 5K … all covered in mud to boot.
