If you’re looking for the perfect beer brand to pair with the GoPro Mountain Games, you’d probably want a beer with a sense of adventure. That’s exactly what thousands of 21+ spectators will find at this year’s event, as the Vail Valley Foundation today announced Pacifico beer as the official beer sponsor of the GoPro Mountain Games.

“Pacifico is a beer that has always been associated with the independent spirit and outdoor adventure,” said Matt Escalante, Senior Brand Marketing Director of Pacifico. “The GoPro Mountain Games are a great expression of that spirit and Pacifico is proud to be a sponsor.”

Pacifico fans will see prominent Pacifico branding at The GoPro Mountain Games in 2018, as organizers will create a music, beer and food garden in the heart of the event at Check Point Charlie in the center of Vail Village, only steps away from the International Bridge and kayaking venue on Gore Creek. Pacifico will also be title sponsor of the very popular Pacifico Slackline Invitational competition held throughout the weekend at Solaris in Vail Village as well as the Raft Cross & Raft Sprint events.

Much like the Mountain Games, which hosts athletes from around the world each year, Pacifico has international roots. Pacifico is a golden-hued, crisp, Pilsner-style lager, originally born in the Baja region of Mexico. The beer was heralded for its drinkability, and was later discovered by surfers, who brought the beer north in the early 1970s.

Pacifico has become well-known as a refreshing beer for those who explore beyond the end of the road, to find hidden surf spots and great adventures. It’s a pioneering spirit that suits the mountain culture in Vail quite well, said Dave Dressman, Vice President of Sales and Sponsorship for the Vail Valley Foundation, which hosts the GoPro Mountain Games.

“It’s important to us that the brands we work with are a good fit with our event, and with the vibe that makes the Rocky Mountains such a special place,” Dressman said. “We couldn’t be happier to have Pacifico on board, and we know that all our 21+ spectators, athletes and fans are going to agree when they come to Vail and enjoy the event that we feel is the best all-around mountain sports, music, and lifestyle experience available anywhere in the world.”

The Vail Valley Foundation’s partnership with Pacifico doesn’t end with the GoPro Mountain Games. The beer will also be served all summer long at the organization’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, which hosts headliner music at the Whistle Pig Vail music series, classical music  including the New York Philharmonic at Bravo! Vail, and acclaimed dance performances at the Vail Dance Festival.

About Pacifico Beer

Pacifico, a golden-hued, crisp, Pilsner-style lager, was first brewed in Mazatlán, Mexico, in the early 1900’s and was introduced to the U.S. by surfers who were visiting Baja in the 1970’s in search of the perfect wave. What they found in Mexico was even better – the perfect beer. They brought cases of Pacifico back to the U.S., and it’s been a favorite beer amongst surfers and adventurer-seekers ever since. Pacifico stands for a life that is measured in discoveries, not days.

Pacifico has been growing double-digits for the last five years in the U.S., and is currently the 3rd fastest-growing beer in the market.

Pacifico is exclusively imported and marketed by Constellation Brands for the U.S. market.
