We’re assembling a dynamic team of Mountain Games sponsored athlete ambassadors, each embodying our core values: human-powered mountain sports, active outdoor lifestyle, eco-consciousness, and spirit of adventure. This new Mountain Games initiative will be a valuable two-way partnership. Our athletes will champion the Mountain Games brand throughout the year. In return, we’ll offer financial support, connections to experienced athlete mentors, introductions to potential sponsors, and in-kind product support. YOU could be one of our Athlete Ambassadors!

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF

Our team will be scouting athletes at this summer’s GoPro Mountain Games and assembling a small team of athletes starting in July. In order to be considered, you must attend and participate in the 2024 event.

GUIDELINES TO BE CONSIDERED

  • Must embody the spirit of the Mountain Games, best exemplified by the event tagline: “Athletes, Art, Music, Mountains”. Must actively participate in human-powered mountain sports or sports and live an active, outdoor lifestyle.
  • Must possess a spirit of adventure, connection to the mountain/outdoor community, and love for the mountains.
  • Must participate in one of the Mountain Games core athletic disciplines (Bike, Run, Climb, Whitewater, Fish, Slackline, Disc, Dog)
    • Bonus weight is given to those who are multi-disciplinary and/or crossover into art, music, and mountain lifestyle.
  • Must live in the continental USA.
  • Must be able to provide value to the Mountain Games brand outside of the event.
  • Must positively represent the Mountain Games brand and be stoked on the opportunity to work with the Mountain Games team.
  • Must share a love for the environment and act with kindness toward others.
  • Must not have significant sponsorship conflicts.
  • Bonus points for content creation skills
  • Professional & Amateur athletes will be considered.

We will support our sponsored Athlete Ambassadors by providing a benefits package that may include the following:

  • Two nights (2) lodging at 2025 Mountain Games
  • Free competition entry into any 2025 Mountain Games event (no limit).
  • One (1) 2025 event VIP Bag / Mountain Games Swag
  • One (1) GoPro camera
  • Cash stipend for competition and travel expenses
  • Featured profile on MountainGames.com and in other event communications
  • Introductions to Mountain Games Sponsors/Partners

Please fill out THIS form if you would like to be considered and get on our committee’s radar. The Mountain Games is owned and operated by the nonprofit Vail Valley Foundation. During the 2024 Mountain Games event, our staff, partners, and event specialists will be monitoring performance and activity and scouting potential athletes for consideration. After the 2024 event the committee will reach out directly to athletes who we are interested in working with.

No! The Mountain Games Athlete Team will be managed by the nonprofit Vail Valley Foundation (VVF) who is the owner and operator of the GoPro Mountain Games. GoPro is our Title Sponsor and a great partner, but this Athlete Team is specific to the Mountain Games EVENT and not the GoPro brand. You will not be a GoPro sponsored athlete or have any official affiliation with the GoPro brand.

As long as you are an adventure sport athlete in the USA.

Nope, we are just looking for emerging athletes in the adventure sport arena.

Nope, you can compete is anything from the Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run to the Garmin Disc Golf to the GMC SUP Competitions. As long as you compete in at least one at the GoPro Mountain games. More disciplines will be a bonus!
