YETI Speed Climbing Showdown

It’s pure raw power where speed is the ultimate goal. Athletes will scale the 15m wall at lightning speed trying to inch out their competitor to move on to the next round. Don’t blink or you might miss the excitement of the newest sport at the GoPro Mountain Games.

Registration for this event closes Saturday, June 6 at 6:00 PM.
Competitors from the 2025 IFSC Denver Speed World Cup & 2025 NACS – GoPro Mountain Games are eligible to register for the YETI Speed Showdown .
Citizen climbers are encouraged to compete in the YETI Speed Climbing Showdown.
Athletes will pick up their competition bibs at registration at The Bulleit Hangout in Golden Peak prior to their event.
Athletes must check in at the Speed Wall at The Bulleit Hangout in Golden Peak no less than 20 minutes before the start of their competition.

Speed Climbing returns to the 2026 GoPro Mountain Games! Watch climbers race head-to-head up a 15m wall on the same standardized route used at the Olympics and IFSC World Cups—finished in seconds.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Speed Finals Warm-Up
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Speed Finals (Men & Women)

COMPETITION:

The YETI Speed Climbing Showdown competitors will compete on the standardized IFSC Speed route with additional holds added to the route.
- Speed Qualification
  - Competitors will be allowed up to 2 practice runs, prior to the start of the Qualification round.
  - Each competitor will have 2 runs to log the fastest time possible.
  - The quickest 16 times (per category) will advance to the finals.
- Speed Finals
  - The fastest 16 finalists will be matched in a standard, single-elimination bracket and compete in a series of head-to-head races.
  - The winner of each race advances to the next round.
- Timing System – The YETI Speed Climbing Showdown will utilize the Deepron Speed Timing System.
