Don’t let their age fool you – these kids are FAST! With a combination of agility, power and quick decision making, this comp will have you on the edge of your seats with side-by-side action that is over before you know it!

 IMPORTANT:

Registration for this event closes Friday, June 5 at 6:00 PM.
Athletes will pick up their competition bib at registration in The Hangout at Golden Peak prior to their event.
Athletes must check in at the Speed Climbing Wall in The Hangout at Golden Peak no less than 20 minutes before the start of their competition.

Event Overview

saturday, JUNE 6

The wall features identical holds and a designated route, which is specifically designed for the youth division. Athletes will compete in a timed, head-to-head format, with each climber striving to reach the top before their opponent. This discipline requires a combination of speed, strength, and technique, as climbers must move efficiently while maintaining control and power to ascend the wall. The first climber to reach the top wins the race.

COMPETITION:

The YETI Youth Climbing – Speed competitors will compete on the standardized route with holds specifically designated for youth climbers. (please refer to the published USA Climbing U15 Speed Route).
- Speed Qualification
  - Competitors will be allowed up to 2 practice runs, prior to the start of the Qualification round.
  - Each competitor will have 2 runs to log the fastest time possible.
  - The quickest 16 times (per category) will advance to the finals.
- Speed Finals
  - The fastest 16 finalists will be matched in a standard, single-elimination bracket and compete in a series of head-to-head races.
  - The winner of each race advances to the next round.
Timing System – The YETI Youth Climbing – Speed comp will utilize the Deepron Speed Timing System.
