Sugar, a friendly and adorable yellow lab, returns to the GoPro Mountain Games with owner/handler and Rocky Mountain DockDogs co-founder Tracy Burlingame.
It’s no matter that Sugar is getting up there in years, especially for an athletic canine, age 9 is proving to be a benchmark for this multi-talented pooch. While many four-legged leapers were taking it easy in 2020, Sugar continued competing, trying her speed in both the Dueling Dogs and DockDogs World Championships, setting an all-time personal best Speed Retrieve score in the process.
She has been back at it on the world stage in 2021, taking second place in Class II at the recent Dueling Dogs World Championships. While she’s retired in the Extreme Vertical discipline, look for her in Dueling Dogs, Orijen DockDogs Outdoor Big Air and Orijen DockDogs Speed Retrieve in Vail and also serving as role model for her up-and-coming Team Splashdown protégé, Drift, a fellow yellow (lab).
