The 2021 GoPro Mountains of Music lineup is taking shape, and leading the way is the legendary Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer Bob Weir.
Bob Weir and Wolf Bros will take the stage at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater June 11 & 12, a two-night run that is just the tip of the iceburg for music at the 2021 GoPro Mountain Games.
Weir etched himself permanently into music lore as a founding member of the Grateful Dead, but has forged new pathways in a long-standing solo career together with his band the Wolf Bros. His all-original 2016 release “Blue Mountain” re-established Weir as a leading voice in the music of the American West, and makes him just the right fit for the GoPro Mountains of Music lineup.
“This is the right music, for the right time, at exactly the right place,” said Tom Boyd, Director of the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater for the nonprofit Vail Valley Foundation, which also hosts the GoPro Mountain Games.
Boyd said the booking was just the first of many music announcements that will bring the 2021 GoPro Mountain Games to life. More music is soon to be announced for Thursday, June 10, and daytime musical acts will be announced soon as well.
