NEW for 2026! Big smiles, fast feet, and nonstop energy are taking over the GoPro Mountain Games with the Kids Mini Dash, designed just for kids ages 6–12. This isn’t about winning—it’s about running, laughing, and soaking up the joy of movement in a high-energy, feel-good experience from start to finish.

  • Registration closes Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 PM but REGISTER EARLY as this event will sell out! 
  • Athlete’s age category is based on their age on the day of the event, June 5, 2026.
  • The course map will be available 1 week prior to the race.

From the starting line to the finish-line high-fives, kids will love being part of the action. Whether they sprint, jog, or skip their way through the course, every runner is a winner in this action-packed event built just for them.

Rules

FORMAT & RULES:
  • All racers MUST wear properly fitting footwear. 
  • The Kids Mini Dash is divided into 2 waves by age and distance. 
  • Both waves will be competing on the same course. 
  • Please help Race Directors and volunteers manage the start and finish area by minding your kids’ start times and lap requirements. 
  • Youth runners who would like more of a challenge are encouraged to register for the adidas Terrex Après 5K Trail Run on Friday, June 5 at 5:30 PM.
  • Dogs are not permitted to run in the Kids Mini Dash. Please consider entering the Rocky Dog Fun Run on Thursday, June 4, if you’d like to run with your pup!
WAVE INFO:

Wave  1 – Long Course (Boys & Girls ages 9-12)

  • Kids in this wave will race two laps on the 0.6 mile course in Golden Peak.   
  • Kids participating in this wave are encouraged to run, jog or walk – every pace in welcome!
  • This race is approximately 20-30 minutes.

Wave  2 – Short Course (Boys & Girls ages 6-12)

  • Kids in this wave will race one lap on the 0.6 mile course in Golden Peak.   
  • Kids participating in this wave are encouraged to run, jog or walk – every pace is welcome!
  • This race is approximately 20-30 minutes.
  • Parents are encouraged to help their little runners on the uneven terrain, and uphill sections of the course.  
LOCATION:

All races will start and finish in The Hangout at Golden Peak.
