From balance bikes to training wheels to pedal bikes, kids of all ages are invited to have a blast racing around Golden Peak. With seven waves of age groups, the Kids Bike Race is a rad introductory event and sends everyone home with a prize!

Big smiles, tiny bikes, and tons of fun, the Kids Bike Race lets young riders take the spotlight as they speed, spin, and cruise their way around Golden Peak!

SUNDAY, JUNE 7

8:30 AM – Wave 1 – Long Course – Boys & Girls (11-12)
9:05 AM – Wave 2 – Long Course – Boys & Girls (9-10)
9:40 AM – Wave 3 – Long Course – Boys & Girls (7-8)
10:15 AM – Wave 4 – Short Course – Boys & Girls pedal bikes (6 & under)
10:50 AM – Wave 5 – Short Course – Boys & Girls pedal bikes (6 & under)
11:25 AM – Wave 6 – Short Course – Boys & Girls balance bikes (6 & under)
11:50 AM – Wave 7 – Short Course – Boys & Girls balance bikes (6 & under)

Rules

FORMAT & RULES:

All racers MUST wear properly fitting bike helmets and have proper footwear.
The Kids Bike Race is divided into 7 waves by age and ability.
The different waves will be competing on different courses.
Please help Race Directors and volunteers manage the start and finish area by minding your kids’ start times and lap requirements.
Youth riders who would like more of a challenge are encouraged to register for the Junior Categories of the XC Mountain Bike Race on Saturday, June 6.

WAVE INFO:

Waves  1, 2 & 3 – Long Course (ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12)

Bikes must have gears and handbrakes. 
Kids in this wave will race the 0.6 mile loop course in Golden Peak.  
Kids participating in this wave should have proficient bike handling skills and be able to navigate rocky descents and climbs. 
This race is approximately 20-40 minutes.
No balance bikes, bikes with training wheels, or coaster brakes are allowed.

Waves  4 & 5 – Short Course – pedal bikes (6 & under )

Kids in this wave will race a shorter 0.3 mile loop in Golden Peak with less vertical change. 
This race is approximately 15-25 minutes.
All participants must have pedal bikes to compete in these waves.
Parents are encouraged to help their little shredders riding bikes with no brakes and/or who may be a little shaky on the uneven terrain, corners and shallow uphill sections of the course.

 Wave 6 & 7 – Short Course – balance bikes (6 & under)

Kids in this wave will race a shorter 0.3 mile loop in Golden Peak with less vertical change. 
This race is approximately 15-25 minutes.
All participants in this wave will be riding balance bikes and/or bikes with training wheels.
Parents are encouraged to help their little shredders riding bikes with no brakes and/or who may be a little shaky on the uneven terrain, corners and shallow uphill sections of the course.
