Family fun at the 2024 GoPro Mountain Games

Posted by: Tom Boyd

With more kids’ events, more family fun, more music, and even more dog events, families will love this year’s GoPro Mountain Games, June 6-9 in Vail

Family fun has always been part of the GoPro Mountain Games, and 2024 will be no different. With more kids’ events, more free fun, more music, and even more dog events – families will love this year’s event more than ever before. Founded in 2002 and hosted by the nonprofit Vail Valley Foundation, the family-friendly event sits at the intersection of adventure sports, music, art and the outdoor industry and will take place in Vail, Colo., June 6-9, 2024.

The Mountain Games welcomes all generations of outdoor enthusiasts, especially kids (AKA groms). The event has a variety of youth events and activities throughout the Games. Some kids may be aiming for the Mountain Games podium, others may want to enjoy the outdoors and spectate, or simply try a new adventure. No matter the case, the Mountain Games is the place to be.

Free family festivities

From fly-fishing clinics to SUP/Kayaking opportunities, slacklining, or the rock climbing wall for kids, and plenty of daytime music, families will find so many FREE things to do at this year’s GoPro Mountain Games, we’ll throw in a good night’s sleep in too! Even the family dog can join the free fun with Yappy Hour in Dog Town, Friday – Sunday. Find a list of all the free festivities online at mountaingames.com/venues/free-things.

Pop-Up Music Camp powered by Coletrain Music Academy

This great new addition to the GoPro Mountain Games will take place on the Tivoli lawn and includes an instrument show & tell that allows kids to get up close and personal with their favorite string instruments while being guided by a professional music instructor.

Fun for fans

We can’t wait to reunite with our Mountain Games fans this summer – because we have A LOT in store for spectators with new and returning fan-favorite events. New in 2024, spectators won’t want to miss the GoPro Jump Jam at the Minturn Bike Park, Celsius Slackline Best Trick, and the Pro Plan K9 SuperWall is back after taking last year off. Mainstay fan favorite events like the Pro Plan DockDogs, Outdoor Big Air event, and kayaking events at the Vail Whitewater Park return to wow all weekend long.
