Final day under way at 24 GoPro Mountain Games

Posted by: Tom Boyd

Day three at the GoPro Mountain Games was full of excitement and day four is underway here in Vail, Colorado, at the best all-around mountain experience available anywhere in the world.

The day got off to a smoking-hot start with the Pro Plan DockDogs, Garmin Disc Golf, Pacifico Down River R2 Raft Sprint, Pro Plan K9 Superwall, Celsius Trickline Invitational, TINCUP Down River Kayak Sprint, Eagle County Animal Services Dog Adoptions, Orvis Kids’ Learn to Cast, Mountain Groove Yoga, Camp Coletrain, GMC Down River SUP Sprint, Oakley XC Mountain Bike races, The CoLab stage festivities, lots of live music, the Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run Kids & Family wave, and qualifiers and semi-finals for the climbing North American Cup Series Vail presented by Celsius .

Not to mention all the fun at more than 100 sponsor booths at Mountain House Gear Town.

And that was just for starters!

Did we mention that the greatest ski racer of all time, Mikaela Shiffrin, came by to talk about the latest news of women’s World Cup ski racing being added to the calendar at Beaver Creek this December?

Phew!

Mother Nature was so fired up by all the action that she came in with a fury in the afternoon, joining in the fun with her own dazzling display of mountain power.

With a bit of rain and scattered lightning, several events were postponed to later in the evening, or to Sunday’s action.

When the skies cleared, action resumed at the climbing North American Cup Series Vail presented by Celsius finals at the climbing wall. It made for some spectacular visuals as some of the best up-and-coming climbers in the world competed for gold.

In case you missed it, here’s the schedule update.
