Day 2 of the 2025 GoPro Mountain Games delivered the goods. From historic debuts to heart-pounding finals, adrenaline-fueled competitions and family-friendly fun, the second day of the event showcased why Vail remains the ultimate destination for mountain sports enthusiasts from around the globe.
Speed climbing makes its debut
The biggest news of the day came from the Bulleit Hangout at Golden Peak, where speed climbing made its highly anticipated debut at the GoPro Mountain Games. The YETI North American Cup Series Vail – Speed qualifiers did not disappoint, as athletes rocketed up the 15-meter wall with lightning-fast precision that left the crowd in awe.
The sport, which has captured global attention since its Olympic debut in 2024, brought a new level of excitement to the Mountain Games climbing program. Athletes flew up the standardized 15-meter wall in times that seemed to defy physics, with each run, leaving the crowd in awe.. Action across the mountain
Friday’s competition lineup delivered thrills across every discipline. The whitewater action continued to impress as competitors tackled the GoPro Gore IV Kayak Challenge and the ISOPURE Kayak Freestyle semi-finals.
On two wheels, the GoPro Dual Slalom finals delivered non-stop action as both pro and amateur riders battled head-to-head, while riders showcased their aerial skills and creative flair at the GoPro Jump Jam.
Purina Pro Plan Dog Town was PACKED as spectators flocked to watch more fan-favorite Pro Plan DockDogs events alongside the brand-new Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge Experience.
The YETI Catch Wars brought competitive fishing excitement to new heights, as anglers tested their skills in pursuit of the day’s biggest catches and ultimate bragging rights. Meanwhile, the CELSIUS Trickline Invitational brought together some of the world’s best slackliners, who converged in Vail to perform their most impressive tricks and attempt world-first maneuvers. Highlights from the CoLab
The CoLab creator stage was buzzing with activity throughout the day, featuring an incredible lineup of entertainment and activities. Musical magic under the stars
Friday night’s Mountains of Music concert at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater was nothing short of spectacular. The triple-threat lineup delivered an unforgettable evening with Band of Gringos opening the show, followed by Molly Tuttle debuting her brand-new, all-female band, and The California Honeydrops bringing their infectious energy and soulful sound.

Setting the stage for Saturday
With Day 2 officially in the books, all eyes turn to Saturday’s action-packed lineup featuring the speed climbing finals, endless whitewater events, tons of family fun with the Nature Valley Mountain Mud Run, and much more.
