WHAT IS THE NEXTGEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM? 

The NextGen Volunteer Program is a hands-on volunteer experience designed just for high school students. 

You’ll work alongside event staff and other volunteers to help bring the GoPro Mountain Games to life, from athletic competitions and sustainability efforts to guest services and event operations. 

Launched in 2025 to complement the event’s GROM emphasis in athletic competitions, the volunteer program was a huge success, with 65+ NextGen volunteers bringing energy, teamwork, and great vibes to the Mountain Games. We’re excited to bring it back even bigger in 2026!

TRAINING, PERKS & PRIZES

📅 NextGen Volunteer Training  

All NextGen Volunteers must attend the mandatory Training on Monday 6/1 (3:30pm-5pm – tbc). It’s your chance to meet the NextGen Crew, learn about how to make the best of your volunteering experience, and kick things off with fun.

As a NextGen Volunteer, you’ll be eligible for some awesome perks:

Meeting new people, showing leadership, fast-paced environments 

Perfect if you love movement, sports, and high-energy

• Banner Crew
• Competitions (Mud Run, DockDogs, Kids Bike Race, etc.) 

What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting athletic events
• Setting up, cheering on participants, and helping operations
• Being part of the excitement

✔ Organization & teamwork

Sports, being on your feet, high-energy environments
