The Mountain Games Short Track Relay is a fast, fun and crowd-friendly cycling event. It consists of two-person teams racing on a combination of dirt road, short single track, grass, and pavement. Only one rider per team is on the course at any time and riders must exchange in the designated exchange area each lap.

FORMAT & RULES:
  • The 2020 Mountain Games Short Track Relay will be a fast, fun and crowd-friendly cycling event. It will consist of two-person teams. Only one rider per team is on the course at any time and rider must exchange in the designated exchange area each lap.
  • Teams will be ranked by category based upon number of laps completed in their wave duration.
  • The course will be a combination of dirt road, short single track, grass and pavement. The final course (variable due to snowmelt) will have length of 5-8 minutes for elites, 6-10 minutes for amateurs.
  • The course will be a closed format and will primarily be in the Golden Peak area (see event map, subject to change).
  • The course will best suited to XC and cyclocross bikes, but a rider can also be competitive on a gravel or trail bike. Riders can use enduro bikes as well, but may be at a disadvantage given terrain.
  • The exchange area will be located near Race City in Pedal Peak (aka Golden Peak), and an exact map of the exchange area will be posted prior to June 1, 2020.

IMPORTANT: This is a team event. When registering, please make sure to have your teammate’s email. First registered team member will pay and then invite their teammate. All participants for a team must be registered by August 16, 2020.
